Landscape — the Journal of the Landscape Institute

Booking is now open for Making It Home, a series of seminars on landscape and housing to mark the publication of the Landscape Institute’s latest publication.

The Landscape Institute will be launching its latest position statement on housing at the Ecobuild event at Earls Court in London on Wednesday 3 March. To mark this launch, the LI will host three seminars at an Ecobuild fringe event. These will reflect the importance of the landscape profession in the development of housing and communities.
 
Details of the seminars are as follows:
 
10.30am – Landscape Institute Housing Seminar: Planning

• The importance of landscape planning - Clare Brockhurst, Leyton Place and co-author of position statement
• Cambourne: case study featured in position statement – Dick Longdin, Randall Thorp Landscape Architects
• Natural England perspective

12 noon – Landscape Institute Housing Seminar: Place and Design

• The importance of landscape design/place-making and social issues – Noel Farrer, Farrer Huxley Associates and co-author of position statement
• Staiths South Bank: case study featured in position statement – Philip Barker, Glen Kemp
• Cabe Space perspective

2pm – Landscape Institute Housing Seminar: Innovation

• The importance of innovation/technology in housing – Peter Wilder, MacFarlane Wilder and co-author of position statement
• The Triangle, Swindon: case study featured in position statement – Luke Engleback, Studio Engleback
• The Code for Sustainable Homes, landscape and the BRE Innovation Park – Jaya Skandamoorthy, BRE

Each seminar will be an hour long and will end in a debate involving all the speakers. You may attend as many seminars as you like, but you will have to book each ticket individually.
